Cauley Security Services, Inc. was established in 1937 by James P. Cauley, Sr.
James P. Cauley Jr. is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cauley Security Services. Mr. Cauley is a graduate of Georgetown University, (1969), (Phi Beta Kappa); and Georgetown University Law School, (1973). He served in the U.S. Air Force reserves for six years as a non commissioned officer, after completing Military Police training. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS). Mr. Cauley has not pursued a legal career, but has devoted his full energies to the professional operation of Cauley Security Services since April 19th, 1973.
James P. Cauley, Jr. assumed ownership of Cauley Security Services in 1992 and has implemented and operated security service at: Alcoa’s National Research Center in Merwin, the Four National Research Center’s of PPG Industries, in addition to the corporate headquarters of PPG Industries, FedEx Ground, Highmark/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cendant and Ariba.
Ron Shaulis is a Senior Account Manager, overseeing the Corporate Headquarters of PPG Industries and the PPG Place commercial office complex. Prior to joining Cauley in 1999 Mr. Shaulis was the Regional Security Director for C.B. Richard Ellis Co. responsible for security, fire life safety and disaster recovery operations in the USX Tower and six other high-rise office buildings in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Prior to employment with C.B. Richard Ellis Co., he was a Senior Fraud Control Agent and Investigator for Mellon Bank (two years) and an Area Safety Commander for the Pittsburgh School District (two years). His primary employment was with the Pittsburgh Police Department in which he served for twenty-seven years, retiring as Police Commander, and Department Head of the Fingerprint and Criminal Record Division – an agency responsible for processing criminal records for 120 police departments within Allegheny County.
Steve Huhn has been employed by Cauley Security Services since 1990. Mr. Huhn received his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University in 1989 with a Criminal Justice major. He has served as the Site Supervisor at PPG Place; the corporate headquarters of PPG Industries, Inc. PPG Place is a 1.75 million square foot commercial office complex encompassing six separate buildings and utilizes a security guard force in excess of fifty Cauley security officers. Mr. Huhn was promoted to the main office of Cauley Security Services in 1995 and presently works as a senior account service representative.
Sarah W. Cauley is Secretary and a Director of Cauley Security Services. Ms. Cauley graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Washington & Jefferson College with a B.S. in English, summa cum laude. Prior to her employment with Cauley, she worked as a High School English teacher at Washington High School; Office Manager at Ingersoll Rand Corporation and Reservation Supervisor at U.S. Airways, Inc. Ms. Cauley acts as a senior account representative for Cauley Security Services, and oversees office staff personnel performing payroll/billing operations.
Roger Rees is the Personnel Manager of Cauley Security Services. He graduated from Slippery Rock College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education in 1989. Mr. Rees' initial assignment with Cauley was as a field supervisor.
Because of Mr. Rees' exemplary performance, he was reassigned to Cauley office management staff in 1990. Mr. Rees has been assigned significant responsibilities within the personnel department and has significant client liaison responsibilities, off-hour site inspection responsibilities, and is utilized to help formulate and update numerous site security guard manuals.
Charles Stayrook: is the Director of Training for Cauley Security Services and a Senior Account Manager. He is a retired Chief Warrant Officer with twenty-two years of service in the United States Coast Guard. During his career in the U.S. Coast Guard, Mr. Stayrook spent approximately ten years as an instructor. These instructional classes covered such diverse topics as: Enforcement of Federal laws and treaties, drug identification, use and operation of electronic radar equipment, self defense, use of crowd/personnel control equipment, supplementing local and federal law enforcement agencies during large scale operations, and operating as Emergency Medical Technicians. He was the lead law enforcement officer of his vessel, which conducted at sea law enforcement boarding of foreign and U.S. registered ships for the enforcement of U.S. laws and treaties. He conducted customs boarding on suspected drug smuggling vessels. Mr. Stayrook completed his college education while in the service, earning a B.S. in Business Administration and History from Excelsior College in New York. Mr. Stayrook’s initial assignment with Cauley Security Services was as the Site Supervisor/Account Manager for a large CDA account and the operational point of contact for security service provided by Cauley at the 2003 U.S. Amateur Tournament held at Oakmont Country Club.
Devon Babcock is an Account Manager for Cauley Security Services. He has been employed with Cauley since 2000. Mr. Babcock received his B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. He spent 8 years serving in the Army National Guard where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Babcock has served multiple roles at Cauley including Security Officer at Penn Avenue Place, Assistant Manager, Field Manager and Account Manager.
Eric Brill is an Account Manager for Cauley Security Services. Mr. Brill oversees various site operations from Central Ohio through Northern Kentucky regions. Prior to joining Cauley in 2007, Mr. Brill spent 10 years in the law enforcement sector. Mr. Brill was a Deputy Sheriff with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for 4 years, before transferring to the Whitehall Division of Police. During his career in Whitehall, Mr. Brill held the positions of Police Officer, Background Investigator, Truth Verification Examiner and Public Information Officer.
Prior to his law enforcement career, Mr. Brill spent 9 years in private sector security. During this time, he conducted assignments in both uniform and plain clothes details. Mr. Brill spent 6 yrs with The Limited, Inc. where he was assigned as a Protection Specialist to the Chairman and his family. He concluded his career with the company as Security Manager.
Mr. Brill has completed extensive training in Investigations, Truth Verification, Crime Prevention and Media Relations. He graduated with an Associate’s Degree (Criminal Justice) in 1990 from Columbus State. Mr. Brill remains an elected board member with the Fraternal Order of Police and is a guest instructor at several colleges and police academies in the Central Ohio region.
The Management staff of Cauley Security Services is complemented by ten full time employees who serve as off-hour road inspectors. These individuals are generally Site Supervisors who have distinguished themselves as extremely conscientious and professional in their daily work habits.
